Is Adeleye TKV a no contest?

Heavy Impact | April 5th | Co-Op Live, Manchester.

The show was broadcast live on Dazn.

An absolute cracker of a card:

1) Khalil Majid (14-0) vs Alex Murphy (13-0) was an amazing way to start the card, it went the distance of 10 rounds with both warriors leaving it all in the ring. AND THE WINNER is Majid by U.D 97-94, 96-94, 96-95. Majid is from Bolton and is trained by world-renowned coach Buddy McGirt. The commentators touted Majid as possibly the next Amir Khan! Only time will tell, but he stays undefeated in his toughest test and moves to 15-0.

2) Delicious Orie wins his debut against a cagey portly journeyman from Bosnia, who just wanted to survive and did not really throw. The wild atmosphere created in the first fight was sucked out of the whole arena by the 4th round. After 4 rounds the scorecard showed 40-36. Orie was not sure if he would even turn pro after the Olympics, as he tried out for the WWE but was rejected. We will see if he reaches his potential as a boxer.

3) Jack Rafferty (25-0) vs Cory O’Regan (14-0) - Commonwealth Super-Lightweight Title AND THE WINNER is Rafferty by STOPPAGE, after O’Regan's corner, throws in the towel !!! Rafferty previously dropped him with a short right hook out of the clinch and O’Regan just did not recover. O’Regan's corner retired him in the 5th after a brave battle, but he was overpowered, hit after the bell in the 3rd and arguably got dropped again later in the fight, but the ref called it a slip and not a knockdown. The commentators said Rafferty could go on to fight Yorkshireman Dalton Smith in another battle of the roses.

4) David Adeleye vs Jeamie TKV Vacant British Heavyweight Title. AND THE WINNER is... Adeleye by knockout in Rnd 6 !!! THE REF CALLED BREAK and Adeleye landed a left hook. Also, on the replay, the ref pulled TKV's arm away so that seriously helped Adeleye land his shot. The crowd were booing earlier in the fight as it was prolonged and not great to watch. The ref was TERRIBLE, he clearly distracted TKV by slapping his arm as he looked down for Adeleye to land a big hook and this was VERY DANGEROUS. We believe it should and will be ruled a no-contest, and the referee needs to be held accountable for giving Adeleye a free shot.

5) MAIN EVENT: Joe Joyce vs Filip Hrgovic AND THE WINNER is Hrgovic by U.D 97-93,96-95, 98-92. These 2 did not impress and did not look like top 10 heavyweights. Hrgovic got cut above the right eye early on and landed many MANY overhand rights on Joyce's chin. The commentators could not call it either way, not one I'd like to see again though and could have been a draw. Joyce is 39, has had an amazing amateur career, but has lost his last 4 fights and there is nowhere else to go, so he should probably retire, as he is still taking BIG SHOTS from massive punchers!!!
